PROBIOS AT THE GLUTEN FREE EXPO 2013

After entering the channel with more than 200 pharmaceutical products without GLUTEN of which more than 90 reimbursable by the National Health System, Probios could not participate in 2013 edition of GLUTEN FREE EXPO, the only Italian exhibition dedicated to gluten free.

Probios, always attentive to its customers food intolerance, has many gluten-free references within the wide range of its products, both sweet and savory to accompany every moment of the day with taste and respect for the environment and health.

Probios goes beyond the simple gluten-free diet, but it takes care of the health of its consumers, creating products that are healthy, certified organic in the entire chain of production, with natural ingredients, with balanced formulations from a nutritional standpoint.

The suggestion of Probios meets the new market trends of gluten that requires, in addition to the security of the absence of gluten, other guarantees related to the origin of raw materials, nutritional quality, ethical quality, organoleptic quality. After years of experimentation and gradual improvements of the recipes, we can say that the products of Probios exceed the concept of gluten-free product for 4 aspects.

1) BEYOND THE GLUTEN-FREE: THE BIO
According to the regulations of the European organic, in the gluten-free products of Probios the following ingredients can not be used:

- No synthetic pesticides and fertilizers: prohibited by the organic legislation.
- No synthetic food additives (colorings, preservatives, antioxidants, acidity regulators, thickeners, emulsifiers and stabilizers, flavoring prohibited by the legislation of the biological). We use only natural additives and allowed by the regulations of the biological: guar gum, acacia fiber or apple fiber, lupine flour, natural flavors.
- No hydrogenated fats: banned by organic regulations.
- No GMO: banned by organic regulations, save possible involuntary presence and only for a minimum of accidental contamination.

2) BEYOND THE GLUTEN-FREE: NUTRITIONAL QUALITY
Many gluten-free products OF Probios, where technically possible, offer recipes with specific nutritional characteristics:

- No milk (and derivatives) and without eggs: to make them suitable also for other allergic diseases, and reduce the fat and calories.
- No brewer’s yeast or yeast of any kind: to make them suitable also for other allergic diseases.
- Without palm oil (replaced by sunflower oil) to reduce the saturated fat content.
- Without added fat: to reduce fat and calories.
- No white sugar (brown sugar, syrup or gluten grains) to decrease the content of simple sugars and calories.
- No salt or low-salt: to reduce the sodium content.
- With wholemeal flour: to increase the fiber content.
- With cereal flours alternative to rice and corn (with buckwheat, millet, quinoa, amaranth) to vary the diet and increase the fiber content.

3) BEYOND THE GLUTEN-FREE: ETHIC QUALITY
- Reporting on the label of the agricultural origin of raw materials: greater transparency to the consumer.
- Search for raw materials of Italian origin: less CO2 emissions, greater assurance of traceability.
- Search for raw materials of Trade Fair origin (cocoa, sugar) to ensure social and economic equity.
- Packaging in recyclable material, with directions to the consumer to achieve better recycling.

4) BEYOND THE GLUTEN-FREE: ORGANOLEPTIC QUALITY
Our gluten-free products are made with the aim of offering a real alternative to the product with gluten, with flavor and texture of all comparable.
This makes them suitable and appreciated by the not celiac consumer, and great for the whole family. So in the case of a family in which only certain components are celiacs, the preparation of meals or snacks dedicated to celiac is not necessary.
Moreover, the use of cereals as an alternative to wheat, with excellent nutritional qualities, makes these products a viable alternative for those who are not celiac and not interested in the guarantee of gluten absence.
