THE PROBIOS (BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS DISTRIBUTION) RETIRING FROM THE MARKET BISFARRO AND BISKAMUT COOKIES

After reporting some cases of contamination of dairy foods labeled as lacking, the Company of Florence breaks off all relations with the manufacturer of Udine Quality Bio, eliminating the related products from their assortment.

Florence, January 30, 2014 - The Probios, a leader in the marketing of organic products and food intolerances, announced today that it has permanently withdrawn from the market two types of cookies intended for persons intolerant or allergic to milk and its derivatives, the Bisfarro and the Biskamut. The withdrawal operation was decided as a precaution and to protect the health of consumers, after a report received at the top of the company - and picked up by some media – on the presence on the shelves of contaminated batches with milk. The company, which is headquartered in Campi Bisenzio (near Florence), also closed any relationship with the producing company (the Quality Bio based in Udine), reserving the right to take against it the necessary legal actions.

"The strictness of Probios in its systems of quality control of distributed products has always been our pride," said Fernando Favilli, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. "Despite this, we have now decided to make further pressing requirements for the selection of our manufacturers and partners to implement new and stricter quality control procedures."

Probios for over 35 years has been a leader in the field of organic farming. Successfully selling more than 200 gluten-free products and food intolerances with millions of items sold each year. Probios exports to 48 different countries in Europe and around the world.
