Cocoa bread fritters

INGREDIENTS
  • 100 g stale bread or milk buns
  • 100 g wheat flour
  • 20 g bitter cocoa
  • 70 g sugar
  • a knob of butter
  • 1 egg
  • the rind of 1 orange
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • milk
  • peanuts oil
  •  caster sugar q.s.
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Crush the breadcrumbs in the milk and let it soften. Squeeze and transfer it in a large bowl with softened butter, flour and sifted yeast, sugar, cocoa, egg and grated rind of orange.
  2. Mix everything well until you get a smooth mixture. Form a lot of balls and fry them a few at a time in hot oil, turning them often. Drain them on kitchen paper and then put them in the casted sugar before serving.
